The Celso Gilberti Alpine refuge in Chiusaforte is surrounded by typically karstic territory, rich in limestone spurs and natural cavities of immense geological and botanical interest. Moreover, the area’s distinctive position, exposure and climate make the hollow in which the refuge is set one of the snowiest places ever. So much so that it is even possible to ski right up until Spring and the slopes of Mount Canin are home to one of the lowest glaciers of the Alps.

HOW TO GET THERE
Il Rifugio dista 5 minuti dalla stazione amonte della Telecabina che sale da Sella
Nevea. Può essere raggiunto a piedi in due
ore di cammino dal sentiero CAI 635 che
parte da Sella Nevea.
Il Rifugio si trova al centro del “Vallon di Prevala”,
fra l’omonima Sella e la Sella Bila Pec,
nel gruppo del Monte Canin.
