The Museum of the Fortress of Monfalcone is divided into two sections: the Paleontological section and the Speleological section.
The speleological section features a permanent exhibition at the Fortress, divided into two exhibition rooms. The lower room displays a collection of various types of rocks, cave concretions, Karst phenomena, descriptive tables showing the orographic zones and a scale model representing an ideal Karst territory. The upper room features vegetation, the history of speleology, methods, equipment and clothes used by speleologists from the end of the Second World War to the present day.
On the other hand, in the paleontological section, situated in Via Valentinis in Monfalcone, you will be able to visit the geological-paleontological collections, the geological-paleontological library, various laboratories and the temporary exhibition of fossils from the excavations in Polazzo.
