Tramonti di Sopra

The municipality of Tramonti di Sopra is situated at 426 metres above sea level. Going up along the Meduna stream, you will go past the narrows of Racli, where a dam has created the lake of Tramonti: one of the three large artificial lakes of the Tramontina Valley.

We would like to mention the handicraft tradition, which still produces wooden domestic tools; the typical cuisine that features venison and chamois, trout and barbel, as well as the "pitina" (a meat ball made with sheep or chamois meat for the festivals of St. Peter or of August holiday).

As far as nature tours are concerned, we would like to point out: the two artificial lakes of SELVA and CIUL (or ZUL); the picnic facilities (Meduna river bed, Pass of Mount Rest); the sports and school Social Centre and the Campsite situated between the two municipalities; the picturesque Chievolis.

It is possible to go on several hikes, many of which are easy, along the Meduna, the Rio dei Gamberi, the Viellia, the Silisia, towards the Forcella Caserata saddle (1568 m), the Forcella Clautana saddle (1432 m), the shepherd's hut, the top of Mount Rest (1782 m), where you will have the chance to enjoy a wonderful view.
