Hike to the symbol of the Friulian Dolomites, starting from Rifugio Pordenone. After the Campanile, you reach the Bivacco Perugini for an iconic break.
The hike starts from Rifugio Pordenone, where you take trail 353 on the right (signs).
The trail ascends the wooded slope behind the hut, leaves the shelter of the canopy, and leads us along the Rio di Val Montanaia. The trail then runs along a path winding among the limestone boulders in the riverbed, with a considerable incline. We climb up the Val Montanaia, first moving towards the walls on our right, then to those on the left, sometimes crossing the stream.
At a certain point, there is a view: the Campanile towers in front of us, tall. We continue along the watercourse. When we leave the watercourse (1820 m) the slope becomes less steep, and the trail more defined and wide. At the only junction, we ignore the trail on the right leading to the climbing route. After a few switchbacks, we are in front of the southern face of the Campanile di Val Montanaia. Continuing on the trail, shortly we reach the Bivacco Perugini (2060 m).

Derived from the technical difficulty and the stamina requirements.
The most substantial part of the hike – the ascent along the course of the Rio Montanaia – requires the ability to move over rocks and gravel traces. Although it does not involve exposed or technical passages, it requires some extra caution.
During the opening season of Rifugio Pordenone, and in autumn. In spring, be sure there is no snow.
Before starting the route, it is recommended to check the period and opening hours of the facility.
