Start from the Piancavallo Infopoint. Turn right into Via Barcis up to the Hotel 1301 Inn. Near the hotel take the service road alongside the football fields and continue up to Casera Capovilla, where the CAI 924 trail begins. After a short stretch the path merges into an old forest road. Pass the signs for Cima Manera, until the road becomes a path again. The path climbs beside the downhill slope up to Baita Arneri. Just past the power cabin on the right, the CAI 918 trail begins which climbs towards Monte Tremol.

From here you can see distant panoramas and blooms in every season. The surrounding natural environment is similar to high altitude meadows and, depending on the season, orchids, lilies, and edelweiss bloom. The path crosses the slope it ascends; watch for signs. Continue along Val dei Sass. At the first fork, descending to the left, you reach the striking cave of the Antro delle Mate or Antro delle Lamate, a place of ancient legends and mysterious tales linked to witches.

Continuing along Val dei Sass it is possible to reach the magnificent viewpoint located between Cansiglio and Monte Cavallo. Our route continues beyond the Antro della Mate to reach CAI 993. Turn left towards Baita Arneri. Pass the first fork with CAI 984. At the second fork, take right the CAI 992 route for Col Cornier. The route runs through impressive karst phenomena where wide sinkholes alternate with deep swallow holes. For the luckier ones, it is possible to see the majestic eagle in flight. Continue on CAI 992 up to Forcella del Sauc, behind Monte Sauc and then along the CAI 992 Sentiero delle Carbonaie, following the white-red markings. Upon reaching the church dedicated to Maria Ausiliatrice, next to the Heart of Stone, you return to the starting parking lot.
