“Pieces of History. Duino Castle Tells Its Story in LEGO Bricks”:

Description

From 17 April 2026, the long history of Duino Castle and the Thurn und Taxis Family, who have owned it for over 400 years, will be brought to life by more than three hundred thousand (300,000) LEGO bricks, which will form seven installations – some of them large-scale – as part of the new project “Pieces of History. Duino Castle Tells Its Story in LEGO Bricks”:  The installations will permanently enrich the exhibition layout of the castle’s rooms open to the public. The result is a unique, multi-voiced dialogue between period furnishings, legends, family memories, figures and events that have passed through these walls over the centuries. More than just a simple game, the world’s most famous building brick thus becomes a genuine tool for communication and an element of contemporary artistic expression capable of reaching diverse audiences, thereby amplifying the castle’s multifaceted and rich narrative, which will be accessible in Italian, Slovenian, German and English.
