Exhibition ‘Labirinto e Oltre’ (Labyrinth and Beyond)

‘Labirinto e Oltre’ (Labyrinth and Beyond) is the title of the solo exhibition by Trieste artist Franca Batich, which will open on Tuesday 2 September at 6 pm: introduction by Franco Rosso and screening of a video by Cristina Giacomelli Tosolini and other films about the artist's work.
Around fifty works will be on display, confirming how Franca Batich's artistic reflection has always remained anchored to a careful reading and interpretation of existence.
The “labyrinth” of the title is the place where one gets lost without finding a way out: but three thousand years ago, the Cretan civilisation had already interpreted it as a metaphor for human existence.
Franca Batich goes beyond the labyrinth, imagining the world as a theatre in which the puppet becomes the emblem of the human condition, a mask from the Commedia dell'Arte: the world as a stage on which a play is performed, for which the artist creates several possible scripts in her works.
