Negli ultimi mesi del suo mandato, un Presidente della Repubblica irreprensibile è chiamato a decidere su grazia ed eutanasia, mentre il peso del passato mette in discussione le sue certezze più profonde. Ariano De Santis, Presidente della Repubblica ormai al termine del mandato, affronta le decisioni più difficili della sua vita: concedere la grazia a due detenuti e firmare la legge sull’eutanasia. Mentre i dilemmi etici lo tormentano, riaffiorano ricordi e verità nascoste che incrinano le sue convinzioni. Un intenso ritratto del potere, della coscienza e del prezzo delle proprie scelte.
