Easy hike that goes up the Val Bartolo, a route immersed in the nature of the Tarvisiano area.
The hike goes up the Val Bartolo along the forest road starting from Camporosso and ascending the valley. Initially shaded on dirt, the route does not have excessive altitude changes and develops without road changes or deviations. Along both sides of the path, several watercourses can be seen, such as the Canale Bartolo.
Along the route, historical traces can be noticed: a commemorative monument in memory of the 1813 battles and old mule tracks visible from the main path.
The road then becomes paved and on the left you can see a unique rock climbing gym, where more experienced climbers challenge themselves on thrilling climbs.
The route continues until reaching the first hut, Baita Beatrice. Finally, the meadows of Val Bartolo appear. Here you immerse yourself in greenery, a stretch of meadows dotted with traditional huts characterized by wood and sloping roofs with balconies adorned with flowers.
The return journey follows the same path.
You can discover this wonderful valley on the occasion of Baite Aperte, a traditional festival usually held on the last two weekends of August: the huts come alive and it is possible to find (and taste) local gastronomic specialties, music, entertainment—all in a unique setting.
