Ring route that leads to the discovery of a spring with a rare geological peculiarity: Tornidor Spring.
Start from the Piancavallo Infopoint and turn right onto Via Barcis up to Hotel 1301 Inn. Near the hotel, take the service road that runs alongside the football fields and continue to the Casera Capovilla. Enter the trail of the Tornidor Spring CAI 925 following the white-red markers.
Follow the forest road on a slight descent, from which you can see the Pian Mazzega alpine pasture, currently productive. Upon reaching the spring, climb up to the right towards the Piancavallo-Barcis road. This route crosses the rare geological peculiarity of the Tornidor Spring. Near a renovated mountain hut, you can see the water collection basin.
Take the forest road to the right, paying attention to the white-red markers and signs. The trail crosses Pian Mazzega and leads back to the alpine pasture where excellent cheese is produced. Continue on a slight ascent along the false flat, paying attention to the new cross-country ski tracks. Rejoin Via Barcis and return to the starting point.
