DAY 1: Villach and Warmbad-Villach
Arrive by train in Villach (options can be verified on the websites obb.at/trenitalia.com); connection to Warmbad-Villach; check-in at the hotel and overnight stay.
DAY 2: STAGE R1 Warmbad-Villach – Baumgartnerhöhe in the opposite direction
4.5hrs, difference in altitude: up 539m, down 120m.
Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3: STAGE 22 Baumgartnerhöhe – Kranjska Gora
8.0hrs, difference in altitude: up 1293m, down 1400m.
Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay.
4. DAY: STAGE R6 Kranjska Gora – Zacchi Refuge in the opposite direction
Km 16.2 – Duration 6.00h, difference in altitude up 1187m, down 618m
Overnight stay in a refuge, multiple rooms with shared bathroom. It is advisable to bring a sleeping bag/sheet and towel.
5. DAY: STAGE R5 Zacchi Refuge – Tarvisio in the opposite direction
Km 18.5 – Duration 7.00h, difference in altitude up 341m, down 976m
Check-in at the hotel, dinner and overnight stay
6. DAY: STAGE R4 Tarvisio – Valbruna in the opposite direction
You go up Mount Lussari via the Pilgrim's Path.
Lunch in a typical Gasthaus. The return can be done on foot following the route of the stage or with the comfortable cable car.
7.00hrs, elevation gain: up 1059m, down 1002m.
Check-in at the hotel and overnight stay.
7. DAY: from Valbruna village to Ugovizza-Valbruna train station. Return by train (options can be verified on the websites obb.at/trenitalia.com)
