The Bila Peč botanical path develops in a glacial basin within the Monte Canin mountain group. The start of the path, which begins at Gilberti Refuge, is reachable either by the Sella Nevea lift or through various CAI paths that reach the area.

The short path is easy to walk and free of difficulties and is set in a very suggestive landscape, thanks to the imposing mountains surrounding the basin it is located in, and the splendid panoramic views you can admire from here.

The vegetation is linked to the extreme high-altitude environment, where limiting factors are prolonged snow cover, strong solar radiation, and scarce water availability associated with highly permeable limestone rock and lack of organic soil.

    Author’s recommendation

To fully experience the territory of Monte Canin, it is recommended to combine this itinerary with the "Foran dal Mus Geological Route", dedicated to the geological features of the area.

It is also recommended to visit the Speleology and Karstism Exhibition of Sella Nevea.
