Roveredo in Piano

The first reports of housing settlement in Roveredo in Piano date back to prehistory, era of which belong the tradition of the cairn graves that are present in this territory.

Traces of Celtic settlement are certified by the finding of some characteristic burials, as the same as the roman presence (from which derives the roman scheme of the town).

The traces of the "roboretum" or oak wood, where the housing settlement, from which the present development arise, has been built, certifying the nature of the name "Roveredo".

Another certain fact is that originally the settlement was divided in two centres: the first one, that was located in the actual square, was called "Roveredum Sancti Avocati", the second one "Villa Roboreti".

In 1811 the municipality of Roveredo was included in Pordenone and two years after the decline of the Napoleonic Empire, the town regain the municipality autonomy.

To see is the parish Church of S. Bartolomeo that dates back to the last century but has been decorated later on. Inside you could admire a beautiful painting of the first years of the 18th century and a fine fresco painting representing the Last Judgment (1872).
