Tarcento

Tarcento lies on the slopes of mounts Chiampeon, Stella and Bernadia and is characterised by the wonderful variety of its environment and by the fact that it links the upper Torre Valley to the piedmont area of the Julian Pre-Alps.
Along its streets with Art Nouveau villas, among which Villa Moretti, you will experience the Belle Époque and then you will enjoy the suspended atmospheres of the charming promenade next to the Torre stream.

In Tarcento, on 5th and 6th January of every year, don't miss the Epiphany of Friuli, which is celebrated with races of burning carts and big propitiatory fires: the pignarûi. The biggest fire is lit on the hill of Coja, next to the ancient castle tower.

Nearby, the spectacular Caves of Villanova - with their stalagmites and underwater ponds - are worth a visit from March to September.
On the other hand, on Mount Bernadia, which dominates Tarcento, you can go for a pleasant hike and discover a blockhouse used in the First World War.
